The standard model (SM) of elementary particles represents our present understanding of known fundamental fermions (quarks and leptons) and the forces between them. The electroweak theory and quantum chromodynamics have been unified into the SM, which is represented by the gauge group SU(3) X SU(2) X U(1). In this article, we discuss the architecture of the SM briefly.
