In this article, we consider a simple toy model of two dimensional polarizable material
consisting of a large number N of non-interacting electric dipoles each of moment μ.
However, the moments can align themselves within the plane in only four (4) different
ways instead of usual two ways with respect to an applied electric field E. We compute the
polarization and orientational contribution of the specific heat of such a system with
respect to electric field E and temperature T .
